My pages are about the weather of Britain. They mainly contain information about severe weather events in Britain; the British weather, month by month; and summaries of my weather station at Lundie, Angus, near Dundee, Scotland. They also include a weather almanac of month-by-month descriptions of the British weather, with an emphasis on severe weather events, climate information, cloud photographs, sky exotica photographs, and much, much more. My web philosophy. Don't you just hate sites that cause your computer to crash, or that take several years to load, or that make you sit through some interminable and frequently dull animations before you get to the content, or that are full of pointless photographs and graphics that use up bandwidth? And, as a Mac user, don't you hate sites that are written without thought to different platforms and browsers - in particular, that don't work with Safari? Hence my web philosophy is: keep it simple. (Some might say I've kept it too simple, but life is short.) Originally I used Claris HomePage to write these pages; ever since that became defunct I've been editing the HTML code (which is partly why it looks so basic). So don't expect them to look pretty - at least by modern standards. At the moment I just don't have time to improve them. Perhaps, one day ... And I am sure they are several typographic errors.
These pages represent a huge amount of work on my part, and the investment of much help from colleagues and professionals. I am particularly grateful to Philip Eden (www.http://www.climate-uk.com/) for preventing many errors and supplying most of the recent monthly figures. Please do not copy these pages without my permission. I am strictly a meteorological amateur, and I cannot vouch for the complete accuracy of the information in these pages. Please let me know of any mistakes you find. Although I've received much assistance in creating these pages, any errors remaining are of course solely my fault.
